I am thinking of sending my 70-year old father to stay at a nursing home in Johor Bahru. Can you advise roughly how much are the charges like for nursing homes in Johor Bahru, and which are the better ones ? Chinese, no religion.

Hi everyone! I am moving to JB soon in one months time and I really need all the help I can get. I would really appreciate if any kind soul would give me advice.
A little info about our situation. I am married, no children and I am Singaporean and my husband is Turk. We decided to move to JB cause the housing and rentals here are ridiculously high. And there are too much people and its becoming a real chore just going out. We moved back to Singapore from Middle east to start 2 branch companies here and we do miss the big space (not the heat) and having pets as well as driving (makes no sense to drive for us in Singapore).

1) We are looking for rental for the time being since we are travelling and staying abroad quite often.
We are looking for 1) inexpensive rental 2) service centers nearby 3) chinese or expat dominated areas 4) good to very good internet connections

2) My husband’s visa is 3 months each time for MY. Will he have any problems to go back to Malaysia after a couple of days or weeks abroad through singapore or other countries?

3) Any recommendations for a delivery company that is inexpensi ve from Singapore to our new place?

4) How much do we need to pay in advance for rentals? 3 months? If I engage an agent, what are the commission structure like?

5) Are rental lease on a yearly basis?

6) I would probably arrange for shipping of about 1/2 container of our stuff from Dubai to Malaysia. Would it be cheaper if I just buy? I would appreciate if anyone could also share info on second hand places or websites in JB.
7) Sorry for so many questions and I sounded really cheapo. Money is a little tight for us right now due to the new companies and also paid an arm and leg in singapore rentals since we did not choose singapore as our choice of property investments (overpriced and small )

I really dont know what else I could ask or take note off so any info given is most helpful. I remembered reading an article here about relocating to JB but cant seem to find it now.
