Need some help… family wants to run away to JB on first day of CNY… go Terbau city K-Box karaoke and then makan… any one can give us some info if they are open.. and any chinese restaruant open on that day.

    adminNo Gravatar Reply:

Hi Matt, Karaoke and Cinema should be open but most of the other retail stores are going to be closed. As such, your makan choices might be a little limited. So as not to spoil your CNY planning, do confirm with Tebrau City directly at 07-3522220 in case they have any special changes for this coming CNY. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Limsimi, do you know of any latenight shopping in JB city during this period leading up to CNY?

    [Reply]

    adminNo Gravatar Reply:

There was late night shopping from 16th – 18th Jan till 1am in City Sq and Danga City Mall. From now onwards leading to CNY, most shopping malls will stick to their normal operating hours till 10pm.

You can expect a little more than a weekend jam from this Friday onwards. Refer to the post here: http://www.limsimi.com/johor-bahru-news-information/johor-new-custom-ciq-complex/chinese-new-year-cny-jam/

To share with everyone, no jam at Woodlands Custom, slight jam JB custom. Took me abt 50mins to clear both the SG and JB Custom. Happy Chinese New Year!

Are there any good and reasonable seafood restaurant around terbau, sentosa area?

    [Reply]

  • 23. adminNo Gravatar  |  January 29th, 2009 at 11:50 AM

You can try the 新运海鲜酒楼 (with Air-con), located just further down the road from Fables Bridal. For even cheaper seafood, try Taman Tebrau hawker centre, also along the same stretch of road with Fables and 新运海鲜酒楼. Young Singaporeans seems to like coming to Taman Tebrau hawker centre but I find their food so-so.. pretty average with a sweaty environment.

hi, do you know if the KTM station at johor baru accepts payment by credit card or only cash?

    [Reply]

    adminNo Gravatar Reply:

Hi “X”, I do not have a definite answer to this. However, based on my experience in JB, it is highly unlikely that they accept credit card payment.

  • 29. x  |  February 9th, 2009 at 10:27 PM

thanks. i checked the ktm website and it says that credit card payment is accept at ‘on-line intercity ticketing counter’. I’m quite confused about this as I don’t know if this refers to an actual ticketing counter.

    b) Cash

    i) On-line Counters

Ticket is open for purchase 60 days in advance prior to the departure date. Ticket can be purchased at any on-line intercity ticketing counters as well as at Commuter station

(Commuter station: Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Pelabuhan Klang, Rawang, Sg. Buloh, Serdang, Kajang and Seremban)

    ii) Web purchase or “E-Ticket”

Ticket is open for purchase 60 days in advance prior to the departure date or latest before 48hours from departure time. Concessions ticket is not applicable via online. Customer may print tickets from this website from their PC printer for use as valid tickets. Tickets may either be for single or return journey.

    Notes:

Booking will be automatically release for open sale if ticket is not collected or exceeds the date/time which has been advised earlier. All on-line counters accepts CASH or CARD payment; like VISA, MASTER, DINERS and AMMEX for ticket purchase at counter or on-line . Unlike Singapore station, accepts DINERS and AMMEX.

Hi X, are you taking the train from Danga City Mall or from other stations? If it is Danga City Mall, then it is not within the list of commuter station: Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Pelabuhan Klang, Rawang, Sg. Buloh, Serdang, Kajang and Seremban.

My friends and I may be travelling from SIN (or JB) to KUL. From what I understand, if I buy the ticket from Malaysia, it will be in MYR, but if I buy it from Singapore, it will be in SGD. It doesn’t matter where the boarding point is. But if you buy an e-ticket online, it will be SGD if you board from SIN and MYR if you board from any Malaysian station. So, I thought I would pop into JB main station (near CIQ) to buy the tickets and get them at half the price.

Hi X, now I know what you mean. You can do that to save some $$. Again, I do not think you can pay using credit card (unless you are purchasing the ticket online) so standby the necessary cash.

Btw, Coach – plenty you can find in Merlin tower, are another option u can consider. It is actually cheap, fast (take you right to the city) and comfortable as well.

В нынешней ситуации большинство тем отходят на второй план. Интересно, как мы будем жить, если доллар рухнет?
