Getting from Johor Bahru to the North-South Expressway (NSE)

The North-South Expressway (NSE, also known as the North-South Highway) is the main road artery of Malaysia. It leads from Johor Bahru all the way to Northern Malaysia, near the Thai Border. Assuming no traffic jam, a drive from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur via the NSE takes just 4 hours.

Getting onto the North-South Expressway (E2):
From the map below, there are 2 commonly used routes to get onto NSE. For Singaporeans travelling in to Johor Bahru via the Tuas Second Link (Linkedua), the Second Link Expressway, E3, will directly lead to E2.

Note when travelling from the Johor CIQ/ Custom Complex
Upon exit of the Johor CIQ/ Custom Complex, there is a 3-way spilt; JB Sentral (Left Exit), Jalan Tebrau/Kota Tinggi (Middle Exit) and Stulang Laut (Right Exit). Take the Middle Exit (Jalan Tebrau/Kota Tinggi). You will pass by a Shell Petrol Station. Take the left exit shortly after that (Jalan Tebrau) and turn right immediately after exiting. You will go down a slope and see Plaza Pelangi on your right. Congratulations! You are now on Lebuhraya Tebrau. Brave some heavy traffic and you should see E2 in 15minutes.
