Company Spotlight: Badan Bookstore

September 26th, 2009 admin

Walk into Plaza Angsana located in Tampoi, Johor Bahru and one store that is hard to miss is Badan Bookstore. Occupying a total area of 12,500 sq ft at Level 3 of Plaza Angsana, this bookstore sells everything from educational guides, Malay books, magazines, maps, gift sets and stationeries.

During weekends, this bookstore gets especially busy with parents bringing their kids in tow. Mothers will be searching for the latest recipe books and kids are attracted to educational books loaded with plenty of graphics. Fathers will probably be in the magazine section picking up the latest copy of football and automobile magazines, or simply finding a good political book for a weekend read. It is also a common sight to see students in school uniforms picking up assessment books in preparation of their SPM exams.

Badan Cemerlang Sdn. Bhd. (BCSB) is the company that owns Badan Bookstore. Belies the success, BCBS has a humble beginning. BCSB traces its roots to 1977, when the company began it journey by selling books, magazines and stationeries. With a modest capital, it opened its very first storefront in 1982. With “Customer Service” as one of the unwaivering core values, business grew steadily with increased customer trust and loyalty over the years. Besides the flagship booksstore at Plaza Angsana, another branch will be open in Ulu Tiram by the end of 2009.

Been to this bookstore – bigger than Popular at City Square. Didn’t know they have an online presence tho. Any idea how long it takes to deliver 1 book to SG?

Hi Halim, I have been to your bookstore before. Like Kit, I will like to know how long it takes for delivery. Amazon generally take 2-3 weeks and the delivery charges are quite high (I use VPOST). Can you send some light on the delivery cost?

saya cadangkan badan book store buka lah cawangan baru kat bandar senai. susahlah orang senai saleng kulai nak cari buku sekolah. kat sini ada kedai buku yg boleh di katakan besarlah juga kat kulai ada 2 buah tapi banyak buku tak ada. susah lah kalau selalu nak ke angsana jauh tu. kat bandar senai di taman impian senai(pemaju kcc) ada kedai 2 tingkat tepi jln besar je senang nampak. kalau boleh bukalah kat situ. senang nak paking, nak cari buku sekolah pun senang.
