America has Disneyland and Universal Studios. Japan is famous for its Sanrio land, while Korea has Lotto World and Everland. Nearby at Hong Kong, you have Ocean Park.
Come 2013, Johor Bahru, Malaysia will have a theme park of its own as well. Legoland will the first of the 3 theme parks to be build in Johor that will complement Iskandar Malaysia to make Johor Bahru a vibrant hub for both tourism and investment. Legoland is also primed to draw tourist from Singapore, with the proximity a draw for families with young children.
Johor State Tourism and Environmental Committee chairman Hoo Seong Chang noted: “Having the presence of such a well-established brand name like Legoland sets us in the right direction in turning Iskandar Malaysia into an international holiday hotspot.. This, along with Iskandar Investment Bhd’s (IIB) broader master plan to develop a fully integrated tourist hub more than complements our state’s tourism objectives and efforts in driving larger inbound tourist traffic from around Asia”.
Looks like the excitment has already set in, even for the adults.
