Station 1 Cafe, Johor Bahru

If you just need a place with chat chit with old friends in a relaxed setting, Station 1 Cafe (Johor Bahru) might just be a place to liven up your night life.

Open in mid 2009, Station 1 cafe has been drawing teenagers and young adults in Johor Bahru. And they have the right ingredients just for that. Besides free WIFI internet access, broadcasting of EPL (or now known as BPL) matches, they provide a relaxed setting with vapour coolers, live bands and a decent menu of alcohol and finger snacks. The long daily opening hours from 8am to 2am means that night owls and morning birds can flock here at their preferred time.

Pasar Tani Larkin (Larkin Farmers Market), Johor Bahru

Located just outside the Larkin Stadium, there are rows of open-air stalls selling local produces. The official name of this area is called “Pasar Tani Larkin” – or Larkin Farmers Market. The area gets crowded during Saturdays, when shoppers come here for grocery shopping.

If you want to cook some beef over the weekend, this is the place you should come to – and you should come very early. The beef here are really FRESH and gets sold out by 8.30am. Besides coming early, you might want to smile gently at the shop-owners as well, as most of the premium beef are actually reserved for regulars and she might not be willing to sell to you in the first place! At RM$23.00/kg, it is worth every cent and you can actually see many Singapore-Registered cars parked here – some actually travel all the way from Singapore to make purchases here.
