The only time when i can get to see the Sultan is on the roads when traffic police whizzes by and you see his car breezing through the traffic. But this is a nice place in Johor Bahru and I will recommend this place to anyone who want to get some peace and serenity. And its nice of the Sultan to open this garden to the public. Changi Soccer team that played an annual fixture here against the Sultan's own Army team. During the match, the Sultan came out in a sedan chair bedecked with plumes and watched the match. We were made very welcome and enjoyed seeing the Palace and gardens. It was a memorable experience for us all. I still have the photographs. I understand the Palace was not at that time open to the public, so this was a rare treat. In 1956, I was a member of the R.A.F. Changi Soccer team that played
