Wow, sure am glad I chanced upon your site. Thanks for the hard-to-find infor you guys provide.
I'm planning on a nolstalgic railway trip before KTM ceases operations at Tj Pg and am keen on sampling JB's tasty fares while I'm there.
Is it possible to buy the famous Yun Lai Pau within walking distance of JB central besides travelling all the way to Kulai, or are there other famous JB paus I should look out for?
Where are the popular hawker streets located?
Thanks in advance.
How much is the fare from Kulai back to Tj Pg? (have trouble accessing the KTM fare page)
What public buses can I take from JB cental to Kulai?

Hi Neema, you might consider the following attractions in SG:

1. Zoo
2. Sentosa
3. Orchard Road
4. Little India
5. Chinatown
6. City Hall (Suntec City/Marina Square)

It can be quite tiring for your family to travel in/out to Singapore from JB daily for 4 consecutive day, but definitely save you on accomodation. What you can do is to still put them up at JB but plan to travel in early to lessen the wait time at customs, and travel back early to JB as well, before 5pm. Zoo open at 8.30am, so you can start traveling at 7.45am if possible to SG.

With regards to transport, in SG, simply take bus or MRT. If you are going to the zoo for example, Chua Chu Kang MRT is just 3 stops from Marsiling MRT and after which, you can switch to a SMRT bus straight to a zoo. Between JB and SG, consider taking bus (if you travel early) or you can get the yellow cabs at Koto Raya. If you have elderly parents, I suggest you charter a mini-bus instead.

0615 and 1855 trains are SGD3. The rest have increased to SGD13. I think there's a 1300 one that is SGD9 (iirc)

I believe the prices for the train from Singapore to Malaysia has increased, other than the shuttle to K. Lipis. It's now SGD13. Yes, 260% increase.

Will update again after i return tomorrow.
