Hi there, can anyone advice where to get some pirated softwares in JB?. I have tried Holiday plaza there, but there is only 1 shop selling such CDs and the choice is limited and they also want me to buy at least 20 pieces and the delivery charges is 50 ringgit. Even if i buy 10 pieces, they still want to charge 50 ringgit for delivery. Is it safe just to bring 4 or 5 pieces of software to singapore/ Thanks for any advice

Too late for the hub, his paperwork has already been approved w/ permission for Sing only (he’s military) but not too late for rest of us! I’m so excited about the opportunity to visit Malaysia! Wish we had more time!!!! And so glad I found this website!

Is there a regular taxi queue at CIQ? Are all taxis reputable?

Hi there,
You can go by cab instead -> Just board right after u exit from JB CIQ. And it is not expensive.. only RM$8.00. I think it terms of safety, it should be fine if you go direct to HP and back to the CIQ. As you mentioned, apply the common sense.. dun sling or hold bags that invite robbery. Do not wear and show off expensive valuables.

Another Shopping mall you can consider Bukit Indah. Take CW3 from Jurong East Interchange.

Was really keen on checking out Holiday Plaza (via bus) during our trip to Singapore this week, but after a “safety briefing” my husband received for this trip, he no longer thinks it’s safe to travel into Malaysia. I think he’s blowing things way out of proportion! Would my teenage daughter and I be okay on a shopping expedition? Of course common sense is always necessary, but is it really as dangerous has DH thinks? Thanks so much for all the info and the great post!

Do follow some of the guiding principles when driving in to Johor Bahru.

1. Look around you for any suspicious bikes/ characters before getting near your car. There are occasions when robbers strike the moment you open your car door.
2. Always lock you car doors once everyone is in the car.
3. Do not leave any valuables in sight in the car. Even if you bag is empty, do not leave it in the car. Put it into the car boot and out of sight.
4. Use steering lock.

Parking in Holiday Plaza is generally safe (although I find it hard to get parking sometimes).

thinking of driving in with family, never try driving in before… how safe is the journey? and safe to park there?

Cab will cost you RM$8-10 from JB custom. If you want to take bus, try bus no. 51 or 52 from bus stop at Kotaraya. Do tell the bus driver upon boarding that you intend to alight at Holiday Plaza so that he can remind you to alight when the stop is reached.
